GLT Qualifinale and our luck done run out, away, and laughed at us as it retreated over the horizon.
Strider took the kick, took the ball, took our lunch money, took my Trapper Keeper, took my baseball cards, tied my shoelaces together, told stories about my sister, then proceeded to beat us in every facet of the game. There were probably some things I could've done differently to begin, but was down players to start. Nothing we hit got hurt. KO's hamstrung us in the 2nd half... and then BLITZ!
So we try a risky Break Tackle dodge with Setekh to *TRY* and have some semblance of position... and he blows it. Swamp Lizard tries to make a game of it all by himself, but it was practically the entire team against him. He survived at least 4 fouls. He is the man.
Grats, Strider. I'm gonna get this team of yours someday. Hopefully sooner than later ;)
**For my mentor's sake - here's what I think I did wrong:
- Beginning defensive setup didn't discourage a blitz on a TG
- Didn't play to what I recognized early, and that was the fact it was going to be a game that went into OT if I gave myself a chance in the first half. I needed to minimize blocks, rather than try and force him into a mistake or hope for dice to fail him. When I get down players I resort to playing like an elf. So I blew it there.
- Second half I knew before I did it that Setekh blitzing was the move that if it failed would wreck the game. The other move was to pick up the ball, but that would've been a fail too... so nothing really to learn in the second half except to get better dice and don't let someone Blitz! ;)”
