And once I'd recovered from that and actually made the first score, and once the blizzard was in full swing, the game was all Scarlak's. The combination of two mighty blow and two dirty player combined to give him the numerical advantage early on and I can only thank my lucky dice that all the injuries were BH and nearly every foul was picked up by the ref, otherwise I would have been playing the second half with about two players.
But as it was it didn't really matter anyway. The Warpheadz kept hold of the ball, never really put the ball-carrier in danger and always had enough players to allow Scarlak to keep the wood elves mostly on the deck.
I certainly could have been more daring in my play, but really once the blizzard came along I sort of gave up and just tried to keep my players alive and do what little damage I could in return. To be fair, the tree was fairly impressive, even going for it twice at 3+ in order to blitz at one point, but really I was outmatched and outplayed from the start and if I'd somehow managed to prevent the final TD and scrape a draw, it would have been very undeserved.
So looking on the bright side...
No injuries, enough cash to buy a second wardancer... and that's about it. The bright side really isn't very bright. But anyway, congrats to you, Scarlak and sorry your easy win wasn't as painless as you would have liked. Next time I'll try and get out of first gear before the second half and give you something more resembling a proper game.”
