“Another horrible game from my point of view - my second today - but at least this time the only death was a loner.
It began well, with the wood elves managing to make the most of an unlucky turnover from the humans to run in the first score nice and quickly. After that, the humans were playing catch-up, and were going to have to rely on their passing game to score quick and often. This is the kind of game I like. Either they would mess up the pass, in which case I could get in there and score more, or they would make the pass and score quickly, and I would get a turn on offence, with all it's nice long bomb opportunities.
But as it turned out, the first mess-up came in the very next turn, when the tree failed his take root and then rolled a triple skull to bring the turn to a very premature end. After that, the humans scored and I set up for some serious passing.
Sadly it was not to be, as LEAFAR rolled a blitz and tied up all my players and this meant I didn't have the luxury of some unnecessary long passing before having to worry about trying to get a TD.
Still, I need to score, so I got on with it, as did LEAFAR on his next drive, making it 2-2 at the half.
But now I was 3 players down and my offence was going to have to be clever and lucky if I was going to pull ahead once more.
A perfect defence stopped me in my tracks, however. I couldn't complain, as I'd had two of them in the first half, but that, combined with a run of turnovers basically handed the game to the humans there and then and they scored with barely any opposition.
And then another blitz result finished me off - well, not quite, as I did manage to get the ball to my remaining catcher who ran down as far as he could in the hope that something would go wrong with the human defence. But nothing did. What could so easily have been an easy score for me ended up with my catcher on the ground, the ball in the hands of the humans and no way for me to get it back.
As I say, it was a frustrating game for me. It's not that I lost - that's nothing new - and LEAFAR is a nice opponent who gets on with the game, doesn't stall and plays well. It's just that nothing worked out the way I was planning. Every offensive drive was messed up with either a perfect D or a blitz, and so the passing game never got going. My one real chance for a long bomb touchdown ended (as so many other plays had) in double bad dice and a surfed wardaqncer on the following turn.
Well, these things happen. I just have to suck it up and get on with it, although it will now be a few days before I have enough time to play again. Hopefully, by then the luck womble will be back in my dug out.

Here's hoping.”
