...which was all capped by on game day by the home crowd chanting 'PATS SUCK, PATS SUCK' in rhythmic patters, as if they practiced a lot how to annoy the defending champion....
...who just happens to be a division rival, who casually massacres a rookie every game these teams play. But hey, that must be totally unrelated that this event happens twice, must not it?
Everything was set up so the Patriots team would fold. They were week in the last few games, not as strong as they wished...
...except they did not fold! They started strong out of the gate, and smashed the Tundersbolts' players with ease! They did not stop until they amassed 6 CAS, including serious injuries to the opposing killers. Big man Brandon Sheriff suffered a lingering knee injury, which will surely remind him of this encounter when these guys play next time! Bolts transferred extra apothecary help for this game, but there was no remedy this time.
The only exception to the strong performance was Brad Brockheart, who not only continued the no CAS streak since he transferred from Unicorns, but also managed to hurt himself on a misguided dodge attempt.
The game turned into a show as the teams mostly did not stall (could not would not), and some experience was gained. Douglas Winston learning legendhood, and Fred Bruschi improving agility are important storylines, that will surely fill the headlines in Broekwater.
On that note, with an upbeat and fanatical locker room, lets all shout: ON TO THE GRIFFINS!!”
