And it was. And fun, too.

It began with the wood elves getting all the luck, scoring three TDs in quick succession while the ogres couldn't get their game together without rolling turnovers.

And then finally, on their turn 8, the Boneheads got it together and lobbed a snotting over the elves to score.

I wasn't going to bother with trying for a 1-turn TD, but then a riot gave me the chance for another score so I ran everyone downfield and got ready - only to fumble the pick-up twice. But luckily I was still in a position to score on my final turn thanks to a timely double skull from the ogres... and what do you know, I failed the catch. Twice.

In the second half the ogres finally found their blocking mojo and started doing some serious damage. It didn't stop the wood elves scoring twice more, but it did make them pay for it. At first it was just the journeymen, but in the final two turns, Nohistor managed to kill a lineman and SI the thrower, making me somewhat glad that things hadn't been like that from the beginning.

Man off the Match definitely has to go to Bloodflayer Slumlord, who was single-handedly responsible for killing, or seriously injuring half an entire team all on his own. Good job!

As for the woodies, well, we're going in to our next match with six journeymen and no thrower, so there's a recovery game if ever I saw one.”
