A failed throw in turn 2 by star thrower (double 1s of course) ruined the Elves' reasonable chance of pulling ahead... late score bottom of first half by the Vampires, then when second half came around the elves were down 9 vs 11 and the kick-off result was Perfect Defense....

Well played by the Vampire coach, good positioning and clever use of the thralls. Lots of injuries on the Elves, including both blitzers sitting the next game out. No permanent injuries to the all-important catchers, though, and as for Björn Jaklund, he will retire gracefully due to his damaged back.
