The Zons blitzed us and soon killed one of our rostered linesman! The apo failed. We at least had a touchback and the offending Amazon blitzer was Ko'd. We advanced around the side but a lino tripping up left Jesiah at risk. He survived the blitz and was able to dodge through a cleared gap for 1-0.
Now things looked up as the zons lost 2 players to sweltering heat. The pulled off a pass and we failed to blitz down the cage corner. But in the crowd we worked an opening and Topis took the carrier down. They still retrieved and went for audacious long pass to the end zone but it scattered in to the crowd. Jesiah picked up the thrown in ball and was able to protect it till half-time. A zon was also badly hurt, as was one of our loners.
Second half it was still hot and we were 9 vs 7 players. They pulled off another pass but crowded out their carrier failed his dodge and Jesiah again collected the crowd throw. We started to surround their players, crowd surfed one, and Jesiah comfortably made it 2-0. Tough one for the Zons but no serious player damage. Our good but painful run continues.”
