Bernie was a drain... we knew it heading into the playoffs... but it was really his supporters that started to irk the upper management, and in turn affect the team. All these people clamouring "Bernie this!" and "Bernie that!" - it was not about Khleveland anymore. So all those fans got tossed into the river fire along with Bernie the one-armed junk bucket. Yes, he was our first ever regular Draft pick (#10 that season)... and yes we will still use the memory of the Jortles ripping his arm off and beating him with it as fuel to stomp the ever-loving manure out of those Daisy-Duke wearin' Jabronis... but he had to go.
We needed to be lean to stand up to the Bronkorks.
... and we needed to bring in a ringer, too ;)
Ramtut was the beef we needed to keep them from getting as many solid blocks against us. It also helped us ring together 16 3DB's and never feel like we were out of position. But the coup was definitely the freak wicked punches we threw in our turn three that set the tide of the burning river against Denvork for most of the rest of the game. After that, never outnumbered and able to push the ball slowly down their throats.
"Good game, JR. Now I feel I have some balance from the 14 cas game you laid on me...”
