And there was plenty of loner death along the way!
The first half was business as usual for two elf teams, with two scores apiece and only a single turnover from me, right at the end of the half.
With the dark elves getting the ball back at the top of the second half, they unsurprisingly pulled ahead and then disaster struck for the wood elves on their following drive. I was two men down, my downfield passing targets were all on the floor, and the only real option was to pass to the wardancer... the only problem was he had to stand up and leap into space first, and I couldn't do anything with the exposed thrower until I'd moved the wardancer...
So obviously you can guess what happened. Failed leap. Reroll. Failed leap. Blitzed and stunned thrower. Dark elf touchdown.
And that was that, with time only for the consolation score at the end.
But what fun along the way. Shadowprime played his dark elves really well - especially using the dump-offs to good effect - and the two skilled-up blitzers were never far from the action and were always a threat. Horkon was a pain at the start, but after a lucky KO he kindly stayed off the field for most of the game, only to come back for the final drive and be killed (highly satisfactory!).
This was also Thursdaynight's 600th game, putting him in tied third place as the oldest player on the site, along with the legendary Mr T, and he took a cas to celebrate.
Another solid passing game as well.
A good night's work.
And now good night.”
