“Fun game against Nurgle which were just as annoying to try to get away from as usual at 1750 TV. The Bodega kicked short and the ball was handed off to the Beast of Nurgle who waddled down the pitch unthreatened before handing off in turn 6 of the first half to a scoring player.
Pitch invasion occurred which was hard on both players.
1-1 was classic elfball, pickup about 4 squares from elves' own end zone, rushed it up the pitch and threw it over the heads of the diseased ones into the hands of a waiting nerves of steel catcher, who blitzed his way free and ran for the equalizer.
Thanks to some fumbles deep in their own half on the behalf of the nurgles, the Bodega players had a good shot at 2-1 but tripped on the last go-for-it with the ball in the end zone! After that the nurgles had 3 turns to ferry the ball up the pitch and score.
It was a close game that could have gone either way, but the bulk of ST4 block and Guard pieces proved too much for the wimpy elves to get through this time.
Elves did a fair job pushing the Nurgle team around, only narrowly losing the blocking game 33-31. Thanks to some practice passes between the throwers in the backfield, the Bodega actually got more SPP's than the Nurgle team (14 vs 13).
Friendly opponent, will happily play again!”
