“Here we faced some mean looking Norse with a great record after a Brawl win. We had been roaming around looking for opposition, and these fellas welcomed us.
They blitzed us straight off which left Barbarus in trouble as the Yeti and co pushed him nearer the side. But fortunately we could get 2 of them down and push the Yeti away, while Santo also picked up the ball. A rookie Saurus was ko'd and so Santo scampered forward. We missed how fast their speedy Runner was and he managed to just get around our line and smash Santo hard! His breath stopped. The apo went to work. He produced the greatest efforts of his life, and along with Santo's resilience, somehow got the skink superstar ready to play later this match! Backup carrier Pintxos picked up and was caged. Then the Norse agile runner went for a big cage break play. The match turned as he fell and fractured his skull! A big loss for them. An Ulfwerener was surfed too, and Santo scored.
The Yeti collected a touchback and a Norsemen was sent off for continuing the bloody match with a retirement kick to a rookie Saurus. The Yeti had charged at our line but Diablo, the Krox, killed an Ulfwerener and Spartacus also cas'd another player. The Yeti was stunned too. A Norseman caught the ball but outnumbered he couldn't finish his brave escape attempt to the line.
Second half we were 9 v 7 players. We lost a Saurus, but after a Norse failed block leading to more injury and a fumble too it meant Santo could steal the ball from under their runner's eye to get the winner.
The Norse got one back with a pass, and there was still more hard blows suffered for both sides in this one. We got another TD after again getting away with foolishly losing the ball from a full distance blitz. Diablo killed off an Ulfwerener. It almost seemed we would get through without another perm suffered (unlike the Norse), but just before the end our Blodge skink was retired. A sad loss but considering the bloody nature of this one we got out lightly. A pleasing win!
