“Fun elf vs elf game which tilted heavily in favor of the Runners thanks to Nuffle.... a proper dicing, as they say... cruel casualty dice, lots of AV7 breaks, and no less than 3 players gone from the pitch after critical 1s (failed dodges, a double skull, and GFI's).

Runners successfully stalled in the first half, knocking down opponents and keeping spirits high. As the game turned out, that was a good thing, as they were up on numbers for the entire game after that.

Apothecary was used to patch up the Wardancer after he was "only" Badly Hurt, a gamble which paid off. If opponent had been up on players and had any killer pieces, would have let the King sleep it off in the relative safety of the injury box.

Reduction 1-2 was an elfball thing of beauty, though... a 1 die block to get a receiver in the open, then a nice long run, a fairly long pass, then an easy jog for the touchdown.

Runners were glad to get some useful funds after the game, and were able to hire a new regular player to fill out the roster to 9 players... the team dreams of rebuilding to 12 elves and a treeman, but this will take a long time... better not lose too many elves in the process, either.

Thanks for the game, friendly opponent who took the bad luck dice in stride. Also some admirable fighting spirit from the elves when they made some crazy runs for the ball and ball carrier, just as they should! ”
