“Possibly the more important game of the SOS in terms of defining the season, this game happened very quickly.
With Youngblood missing the Griffins felt at an immediate disadvantage in the strength stakes, and the first half were pretty unfocused allowing the unicorns to force a ball drop and then recover the ball and score with few Griffins on the pitch.
In the 2nd half Danny Coale forced a throw in with a surf after some uncharacteristic bad positioning from the unicorns, however rather than pulling Tim Cook back to protect Tevin, the Griffins focused on the possibility of a quick passing play to equalise, which came to naught when Williams smashed Tevin out of the game and setting the Unicorn up for the 2nd TD.
With this scored and the game won, the Unicorns focused on player protection, something the Griffins were only to happy with and ran in the consolidation TD.”
