Elves started dropping left and right under the pummeling of the Sauri, and coach Ray thought he had the game in hand and stalled with a skink holding the ball close to one end zone corner of the pitch, with the rest of his team tying up and beating up the elves.
One brave catcher with Dodge managed to dodge out of a tight spot, ran 8 spaces to punch said skink in the face, rerolled to knock the little guy out, then grabbed the ball in the very corner of the pitch, and decided to just stand there.
Next turn, a saurus got 3 dice on him with two assistants and knocked him into the crowd, which punched him in the nose and threw the ball back onto the field. .. if there's one thing the elves do well, it's pick up the ball and throw it around, and some rarefied elf bullshit happened which landed the elves a 1-0 touchdown by the end of the first half!
Second half the lizards kicked the ball, and the elves managed to dodge four players into scoring position after their first turn, with the ball in the hands of AG5 thrower wannabe... They got as far as having a loner standing unimpeded in the end zone, waiting for the pass... then fumbling his 2+ catch and failing his loner roll.
Elves didn't give up, but from that point on it was an uphill battle... lizards got the ball back, and eventually scored in the very end, with a solitary elf and a tree knocked on its back on the ground.
I urged the opponent to try to pitch clear me, and he obliged but was unable to do so. Even tried a 2 die uphill block with my tree in the end to see if I could get him off the pitch!
Again, cool game and friendly chat with the opponent coach. Good luck with the team!”
