Elves were a curly elf hair and a misclick away from scoring a well-timed turn 8 touchdown in the first half, then blocked instead of blitzed with the ball carrier, which left him a square away from the touchdown zone instead of walking unimpeded into it.

Second half, there was still a few shots at an elf touchdown, but the numbers favored the Norsemen, and the tree was chopped down and remained prone for the remainder of the game.

Lineman Gustav Lindvall had an excellent game, hurting two Norsemen severely. Thanks to their passing and blocking game, the elves also won the SPP race handily, 13-8, despite losing the game 1-0. The coach has noone to blame except himself (perhaps Nuffle was involved somehow, he usually is)--this really would have been a well-deserved draw, considering the brave and elflike play of the first half.
