#15 Fatima Vorreichen – Smashed Hip (-MA)
The crimson shirts comes to Kemperbad from an unexpected loss against a Wreckers team they seemed to be in full control of. Coach Dedekind expected nothing from them here, and had already written off this game as a loss. The main thing in a game they played 350k upwards was to preserve the players. But Knights were none too comfortable either, after their loss against the Legion, and they were in need of points.

With the fans on their side, albeit only barely, the home team won the coin toss and chose to kick. That might not be the smartest thing to do against the crimson shirts, who are strong on the damage-dealing side. A bad kick sent the ball over the Cascade right sideline, so Kolskegg got the ball in his hands. Cascade pushes the LOS away and down, and moves slightly towards the left, where Kippenberger catches the short pass from Kolskegg. Knights took the bait and tried to exploit the small opening left for them. They sent West and Jurgensen around the Cascade left flank and went straight for the ball. Kippenberger was hit and went down, but the ball bounced safely behind the Cascade players. Cascade was now in contact along the whole front, but concentrated on the backfield Knights West and Jurgensen. Goode brought Jurgensen down and Lexer's foul KO'd him, while Kippenberger recovered the ball. Cascade stays in the middle, defended themselves well and towards the middle of the half, Kabluski is sent off permanently injured with a smashed ankle after another Lexer foul. West is the next Knight to be sent off permed, this time by a Goode patented Piling On, and it also costs them the apo, who failed to help out. With Kippenberger free on the left side to score and Cascade pulling back to surround him and stall, Knights actually pulled back. Satisfied with fouling Kolskegg and getting him badly hurt, they held back and let Crimson Cascade stall until the end of the half. Kippenberger scored and Knights failed to equalise against the patented sidestepping defense of the crimson shirts.

Before second half, Crimson Cascade had Lexer banned and quarterback Gudrødsson badly hurt, but Knights was in more dire straits. Three superstars, catcher Matthews and blitzers Kabluski and West were injured and dirty player Little banned. Only 12 players remained, and it was time for Toretto to try his new role as ballcarrier. A rock from the audience stunned Kippenberger, but Cascade's LOS survived intact, and they immediately shifted right and Goode's blitz sent Coghill out KO'd. Knights went right and Hunter scored quickly without much more drama. Coghill was not back, however, so it was all men to the pumps as Knights had to hold for another 6 turns to get the draw.

With quarterback Gudrødsson out, Kippenberger had to take over as back-up quarterback. Another over-the-sideline kick from the Knights put the ball in his hands and the drive could start. It was slow going for the Cascade, who first tried right and then left, only to find themselves surrounded by Knights players at the end of the half. Running out of time, desperate measures were needed, and Goode managed for once to disengage the man he was handling to help team captain Kümmel with newly acquired Agholor. Kümmel blitzed and he went down, and dazed as he was, he made the wrong the decision on where to land. Instead of blocking straight ahead, forcing Kümmel to run past divetackler Fuller, he landed next to Fuller, opening the goal-line run for Kümmel who happily obliged. She easily dodged Hunter and went for it to enter the Knights endzone. Thus, with Borchers pushing Jurgensen away, Kippenberger only had to dodge and complete the long pass to Kümmel for the winning TD. Knights again got nowhere against the sidestepping defense of the Crimson shirts in their final effort, but Billy Winn managed to perm guard quarterback Vorreichen. She will miss the next game, but probably not so much her lost movement.

A great effort by the team, and especially the big four; Lexer, Goode, Kippenberger and Kümmel. Crimson Cascade got the two points Inga had promised from the SoS games, only against the wrong team. Knights were fighting hard, but were not so precise and aggressive as usual, and Agholor's rookie mistake was the nail in the coffin for them. They also had to add another two perms to their long list of permed players. (Knights were also let down by the dice, of course...)
