“This match was fast, muddy and fair. The Machines won the toss, and chose to receive.

The rain started to pour right after kickoff, both teams engaged in a huge brawl at the line of scrimmage, punding each other senseless in mud. After a couple of failed attempts to pick up the ball, Franco Dinero managed to toss the ball to "Flash" Jebediah, who ran quickly down right flank.

The Divas were fast to redeploy their defense, and formed a strong defensive line, hoping to catch the ball carrier. "Flash" didn't see the enemy line at first because of the rain, but as soon as he saw the Amazons he switched tactics. Running parallel to the line of scrimmage (and almost tripping over a felled lineman), he then turned again, now running on the left flank.

"Flash" was too fast for the defensive line, but was almost tackled by the deep defense. The tall, blonde Amazon pressed him against the sidelines, when the real runner on the left came, Freddie Mühl. Distracted for a single second, the Amazon turned to face the second catcher when "Flash" kicked her legs away with a sweeping kick. All remaing defenders behind him, "Flash" scored the first Touchdown, leaving Freddie Mühl under a soaked, muddy and angry Amazon.

With only a few seconds left, all the amazons could do more the first half was some wrestling with three Machines linemen, who surprisingly all volunteered.

Second half was pretty much the same, with a big, muddy slugfest in the middle of the field, but with no major injuries.

After a failed left field drive, the Amazons rettrieved the ball. Divas thrower Candice tried time and time again to pass a reciever, but was tackled a couple of times and was hard pressed to find an open spot. She finally find one; Linewoman Barbi was open far down left field. An amazing pass later, it was tied 1-1.

The Machines was racing against time and sent half their time in an all-or-nothing drive down right field, Winston Smith carrying the ball after a touchback. Unfortunately, not even a spearhead with "Devil", Lt. Davidson and Smith could penetrate the ladies defense, and the game ended a draw.


With no casualties in the game, Apothecary Finkelstein had an easy match, until he overheard the coach mentioning him as responsible for cleaning team uniforms.

It was a good game, and I hope the Divas are ready for some mud wrestling some other time :-P”
