“Nice game against elf team coached by Nordic Neighbor Madvig. Elves were pressured into scoring early in the first half, then the 'zons were able to cage up and walk the ball down the pitch for a reasonably safe score at the end of the first half.
Second half, the elves kicked, and my AG4 blitzer Lily Rader was given the ball on a touchback. Again, the amazons played a patient caging game, walking down the pitch and taking occasional pot shots at the opponents, who had big problems knocking the dodgy girls over.
The amazons scored in turn 16...and figured the game was over, barring a riot... but a Quick snap and far more experienced opponent elf coach meant a one turn touchdown was the order of the day. Next time, will put three guards together on the LOS to protect against this somewhat.
The elf coach still had a reroll but didn't need it... textbook one turn touchdown using MA7 blitzer. Excellent work.
Looking at the statistics, it was close in everything--SPP, blocks thrown, touchdowns...
What have I learned in the months of not playing with my girls, that I didn't know when I started the team a year ago as my very first fumbbl team (not knowing anything about blood bowl)? Many things about the caging game, the power of Guard and Blodge, the value of blitzing with the mighty blow piece against targets of opportunity... and about patience and watching the clock.
I may well have some fun with this team again... and try to keep them below 1700 TV for as long as possible.
Thanks for a nice, friendly game. Happy for a rematch anytime!”
