“Very successful game against a brand new Wood Elf team coached by friendly Polish coach Peter who just registered on Fumbbl. I managed to grab the ball with a Ghoul and run it up for a turn 8 score in the first half. I was especially happy with being able to switch sides and move up with the ball while keeping it reasonably shielded off from the woodies.

Woodies especially suffered from lack of basic skills. Only wardancers had any skills at all, as opposed to the wights and ghouls who had some block and dodge, respectively.

Elves were on their way to score in the second half and equalize, probably stalling it out for a couple turns to make it hard for the undead to win the game... but a failed dodge with the wardancer (Nuffle loves those 1s, unfortunately) caused an untimely turnover and let a ghoul run in, push the ball carrier into the crowd with a one die block, then get it into the hands of a wight who ran it all the way for the 2-0 end result.

The Undead team fouled like crazy at every chance they got, especially on the wardancers. Opponent coach asked me why I kept fouling even after I'd won the game. Good question with many answers; one is habit, and an almost compulsive desire to kick downed wardancers in the head (in the words of Purplechest on the podcast, when a WD hits the ground, we owe it to the world to foul him)... another is probably my recent goblin experience, which has made it more natural for me to foul... end of the day, I'm amused when my players foul-kill a player and I write it on that player's biography. One of my amazons has foul-killed a minotaur, that's a pretty cool situation to imagine!
