Game started out in one of the two best ways possible--with the death of a gutter runner on the first block of the game. The only better thing my elves can imagine is the death of an opponent wardancer!

Sadly, my elves got their just returns as the rats avenged the death of Schafenacker promptly, fouling him with their little rat feet badly enough that he would have died if not for the ministrations of the apothecary. He walks with a limp after the game and will only be around until I can build up numbers and hire a replacement... he's had an outstanding career, and Schafenacker was his 7th kill!

As for scoring, the linguists had problems putting their heart into it after the demoralizing deaths of promising witch elf Wu and guarding lineman Ilocano, one of the senior players of the team. Rats were just too good with the ball and ran circles around the dark elves.

Cool game, cool team, friendly opponent...

And end of the day, I did kill a gutter runner! So it's not all bad.”
