Vampires scored on turn 8 after taking their time trundling down the pitch, then the elves tried but failed to get a one-turner (it would have been pretty hard without rerolls, the opponent assured me, and it was).

Second half, elves did a textbook two turner, then lined up with 11 elves against 4 vampires and only 2 thralls.

There were some fair shots at the ball from the vampire team, and perhaps even a remote possibility of pulling ahead at some point... but numbers came back to bite the hematologists hard, and there just weren't enough bodies to stop the elves from scoring.

Nuffle blew more on the opponent's casualty dice than on mine, and my 41 vs 20 blocks were rewarded with a single casualty (an apo'd MNG on the wardancer)... I surmised early on that if I were to have a chance in this game, I would have needed to get some early casualties on positionals, and when I didn't (and the vamps started hurting thralls), all went downhill.
