The first half saw the CD, who always excel on defence, all over the dwarf drive. The ball went down several times and in the final turns, with rerolls gone, the dwarves got clear, but a bull tagged the ball carrier and turning down the 3+ dodge for a series of 2 die blocks to get a 2 die blitz and move the bull, Double Skulls came, when only 2 pushes were left.
I'm not sure I'd play it differently, as with a cdb out on turn 1 and a hobgob and cdb KO'd getting someone off pitch could have simplified the second half a lot.
So it failed, and both KO came back on a single roll.
10 CD vs 11 Dwarves, but CD ball. A miss-field saw commit forward but they swept the ball up and bull dashed off with my team mired with the Claw/SF/MBG CDB horde.
All looked lost, but the runner could assist on the bull and the dauntless blitzer dodged out for dauntless hit, for once this game the dauntless worked ( a load of slayer dauntlesses had either failed or resulted in both downs), the ball landed on the runner, he caught it and we ran it to midfield, where the Bulls and cdb caught it and brought it down. There was just enough luck to grab it up and run clear, with GFI and dodges done with no reroll safety net, and luckily the BUll BT dodge was a one and we ran in a possibly undeserved winner. The draw was probably a fairer result, but Nuffle wanted the grandstand finish.
A classic game with ebb an flow in every turn seemingly. Both teams looked down and out only to pull off incredible plays. Some classic BB, just a shame there had to be a loser.
Very Fun.”
