And hello again to Broekwater. I think I'm 0-1-3 now against the Pats.
Tactics this time was to put early defensive pressure on and try to pop the ball before it got into the cage of hell, which almost sorta worked, but I left myself overexposed and lost my apo turn 2 and a mb source turn 3. Sluggers then got greedy trying a gfi for a score rather than walk it in with the catcher, and suddenly Pats led 2-0. A lucky riot and quick score levelled it up, but I didn't have the big guns left to challenge Bortles on the last drive.
Not the Sluggers' coach's finest hour - some terrible errors and general loss of focus - but a great fun game and lots of action. Always fun to play against the conference's premium side - great news is I get the Unicorns next week, the conference's other premium side. Then probably the Thunder after that, the conference's other other premium side. Happy Season 8!”

“Wild wild game. 1st game of season8 of DLE, between Sluggers and Patriots, who play pretty frequently recently. These 2 teams have faced off in the conference final in season7, while being no1 and no2 seeds. In that sense Sluggers start to qualify for a rival of Patriots. (Patriots consider rivals, who they meet more than once a season with regularity.)
The game got wild swings, Stableboy being the difference on multiple levels. He endured a lot of punishments early, did reckless actions, and scored for the team. Then splooshed.... I guess i bought a win here for drafting him (future 3rd + future 4th draft rights.)
Both teams tried to be aggressive, and farm shamelessly, and most of those attempts backfired. The difference was really that Patriots did not ultimately paid for it, while Sluggers paid hard. Pats did a defensive TD in the 1st half, and even though Sluggers had riot, could not avoid the loss.
This was a hard fought, and entertaining game, specs were loud, so all is good. On to the razorbacks!”
