First to go was AV5 legend #3, first brought down on a both-down by a wrestler who risked his own life and limb to try to break armor on the skilled little guy, then fouled brutally and killed. Apothecary tried to save him, but all he found on the grass was a puddle of bright red blood.
It smelled of bacon.
Dirty player #10 was the second, killed on a straight-up block. No apothecary around, and the rest of the team averted their gaze. He'd played 34 games, and had killed a frog with his boots one day, so perhaps it was Nuffle's will that a frog would be his bane.
The most embarassing (some in the crowd would say "funny") death of them all was player #16, only on his 5th game ever, who failed a GFI (including the reroll), tripped and DIED. Turns out there's a reason for the "Never go for it, you'll trip and die" advice after all.
Opponent managed a solid stall in second half; there was (surprisingly) a play to equalize with a TTM score, but flings failed the pick-up.
Deaths bring the TV down to 1500, which should be a nicer point to start building from. Perhaps if I save up some dough I'll replace the treeman who doesn't have block.... but more likely not.”
