“Two very evenly matched lizardmen teams. Two teams with not enough block, no sure hands, and only 2 re-rolls. Two teams that rolled double skulls and triple die both downs. Two teams that basically.. couldn't do a lot right.
We forced them to score early, and then managed to score ourselves in the first half.
In the second half we did a crazy banzai play with .. handing off to a blodge Saurus! But then we promptly left him wide open, and pow-ed down immediately. The Tree Pushers score on the defense.. but leave enough time for us to scrape through and score again in the second half. We even manage to save a re-roll, unlike our opponent!
But they won the coin flip, and then we both got cheering fan re-rolls. However, they were missing 4 players - all skinks - at this point. We were 'only' missing 3 players. So unlike the rest of the match, they had more big guys than we did, but we had better ball handling? We forced them into a mistake, and then fled with the ball deep into their end. Nope. Their Krox (notoriously unreliable in overtime, clearly played too long) managed to sit on the ball carrier, and then the only remaining skink dodged far too many times to pow blitz our ball carrier.
However, they couldn't pick it up, time was running out, and we eventually failed less rolls than they did and snuck in the winning touchdown.”
