Cue the third foul - my opponent's argument is "its part of the game" my counter to this "you are going from a 99.1% certainty of winning the game to 99.5% certainty" to my mind a pointless foul, you gain nothing from it.

We play games because we enjoy them - yes fouling is part of the game I accept this. Once it becomes pointless well its pointless rather like winning 6-0 as opposed to 5-0 in a game with your neighbour - pointless.
