But that was it. Seriously, every other thing that could have gone my way went my way, and every important dice roll that spanishpoint needed to make also went my way. Looking at the stats, it appears I had just one turnover and that's certainly what it felt like. I just sprinted, dodged, leapt, threw long bombs...you name it, they all worked, but when spanishpoint tried it, he just ended up leaving the ball somewhere so I could pick it up and score.
The second half of the second half was a little better for him, but by then he was 4-1 down and it all seemed a bit pointless - and even then I still managed to kill possibly his two best players.
So a huge dose of sympathy for spanishpoint. Yes, it's great to win, to rack up some terrific stats and to keep all my permanent players intact, but honestly, there's very little pleasure to be had in such a one-sided affair.
There's not even any point in doing a play-by-play. Basically, if I was receiving, I threw a long bomb for the score, and if spanishpoint had the ball, bad dice forced him to drop it, I picked it up and scored.
2 casualties for Spiderplant (though no MVP for once), 5 for 42 for Briskbreeze (one of his passes was while on defence and it was just a quickie, the rest were long bombs) and I finally achieve my goal of having two catchers on the team at the same time. One of them even has a skill!
Thanks you, spanishpoint, for being so noble in the face of such appallingly bad luck. I hope you don't have to suffer another one of these for a long time.”
