“Orc bashing and Elven leaping were the main calls of the day. The Elves received and forced the Orc line to over-extend leaving a lone elf lineman free on the backside. The thrower flipped the field and threw up the easy pass, but it tumbled off the rookie lineman's hands. Still the Elves recovered and managed to run it in by turn 4. The Ruckers fielded a deep kick to the corner, brought it up to mid-field and made a stand, scoring just before half. The second half started with the opposite kick. The ball landed just in front of a Black Wood Wardancer. The Ruckers fought to corral the ball more toward the center of the pitch, and spent the majority of the half trading blows with their more fragile opponents. A pair of failed Wardancer leaps left the way open for an Orc rush up the sideline, but the Elves wouldn't go quietly. A mad leaping and dodging effort by a Wardancer took the ball from what seemed to be a secure cage. The elves followed this by a deep pass to a wide open receiver. Again, the ball just barely floated from the reach of the world-be scorer. The orcs recovered, took the ball back, and ran back up the sideline, a convey of teammates leading them with leaping wardancers trailing as they refused to give in. ”
