We have just witnessed why the Ghasts so early in the season, have put themselves in a position to lead the league, in a manner striking fear in the other coaches.
The weather looked nice from the beginning, but omnious clouds surrounding the stadium told us that, this might change during the match.
Having spied the Ghasts' rooster before the game, the Skaven coach had learned that his Wyrdrunnerz would be outnumbered. In an effort to help his players, the runnerz had smuggled a few items onto the field in hope that it would somehow help the odds in their favour. Little did it do however, as the Ghasts showed what they are made off from the first turn.
The ball had barely touched the ground when Mongo the Ratogre threw a block so massive, that he himself went down alongside Flæskefars.
The referee was quick to call "offside" on Mongo, and the Ghasts reacted quickly by swarming the runnerz' side of the pitch, even before they had managed to get their paws on the ball. During the swarm, somenone apparently stepped on Mongo by accident, sending the Ratogre of the field. Luckily for the Runnerz, the skaven coach had just recently hired an apothecary for the same reason. Unfortunately this same apothecary, had been very excited to do some good work, so when Osi went off the field, only seconds earlier than Mongo, he quickly spend all his time and remedies to patch him up again. This left the skaven coach helpless looking at the unconscious Mongo, who spend the remainder of the match in the dugout.
Meanwhile on the field the Runnerz had managed to get possesion of the ball. And trying to avoid the surge of undeads and werewolves, we saw the thrower Dahnnyz "Dimez" do what he do best, passing the ball to the open Gutterrunner"Muscle Hamzter". He did however not exactly anticipate this strategy, as he is clearly used to getting the ball delivered personnaly, so he failed the catch, giving the momentum back to the ghasts.
What Happened next was more or less a scramble for the ball, as several skaven scurried around the pitch in a desperate attempt to both get their hands on the ball as well as avoid getting beaten into a pulp. Neither succeeded very well, and within a few minutes the Ghasts scored their first touchdown.
The remainder of the match was more or less an uphill battle for the Runnerz, trying to survive and trying to hold the Ghasts to as few touchdowns as possible. This didn't become easier, as the omniuos clouds suddenly launched a blizzard across the stadium, covering the pitch in snow.
The only good thing for the Skavens, was that the Ghasts for some reason, had stuffed their gauntlets with pillows, leaving most of the rats more or less unharmed for the entire match. Though most of them did spend an awful lot of time being stunned.
Whoever is meeting the Runnerz next, will be glad however that their starplayer, the "A-Train" will miss the next match.
The Ghasts came out on top of this one, securing a well earned 3-0 victory, leaving nothing to chance during the game. And they will indeed be a hard match for any team in this league for the remainder of the season.
This is McBooger signing off, and until next time...keep those bodies bleeding and balls rolling.”
