Bal'timor Ravens (Dwarf) vs Lockdown Songs (Orc)

Lockdown Songs (LS) win the toss and elect to receive. With the mainstay of the LS scrimmage line, the large and none to bright troll Ghost Town out for today with a groin injury, it looks like he’s been replaced with the Star Player troll, Ripper Bolgrot! With all due respect to Ghost Town, Bolgrot is a massive improvement, giving LS a new edge.

Kickoff! LS blitzer the Clampdown safely collects ball, moving into position near midfield line, with blitzers and linemen beginning to gather around to protect his drive upfield. Bolgrot shows his presence early, with a massive block KOing Bal’timor Ravens (BR) blocker Hedgrum!
Not to be outdone LS blitzer Apartment Story cracks Thezzaet, and he’s stretchered off unconscious as well! Dwarf counter blocking downs the oversized black orc Everybody Knows, and a swift kick while to his massive prone form sees the first orc off the pitch! Referee says play on!
About midway through first half with LS have pushed halfway into BR territory, when an overconfident Apocalypso is outmuscled by smaller but hardy Segrack, exposing the Clampdown! BR blockers Garsan and Lucky Boy pounce on the opportunity, but ‘the Clamps’ survives the challenge, staying on his feet and retaining ball possession!
Turning on a dime, Apartment Story about faces to rush to his captain’s aid, driving back the dwarves with fierce blocking, and allowing the Campdown to break free and make for the endzone! Possibly showing frustration, Grarmuk sinks a boot into the nearest downed orc, but this time the referee is not having it and the BR blitzer is sent for an early bath!
Approaching halftime, there’s only 8 of the starting BR 11 on field, and the 10 remaining LS players seem to be in comfortable position. With only clear green grass between him and the finish line, the Clampdown seems content to take his time, running the clock. He plants the ball just before the halftime whistle, putting LS in a 1 – 0 lead and leaving little real chance of a BR counterstrike before halftime.
With mere seconds on the clock after setting up to receive the kick, BR sensibly concentrate on blocking and brutal work renders Stay Away and Richard Darkshield unconscious just before the whistle!
The Orcs appear to have packed their smelling salts however, successfully reviving all Koed players at halftime and returning to the pitch with a full squad against only 10 dwarves.
BR start fast receiving the second half kickoff, with Sagrack deftly stepping into position and catching the ball clean. BR begin to move into cage formation in their own half, with LS players rushing in to put pressure on the front and left of cage – it’s a scrum!
As the orcs and dwarves engage in rough tussle, Sagrack moves laterally, looking to find a route around. He manages to break free, but with only two teammates providing coverage. He’s still protected for now, but the cage in now only a half cage, forcing the ball carrier to stick to sideline.
One orc after another seems to peel away from the midfield brawl, with their slight edge in speed allowing them to close in on the escaping dwarves! The players protecting Sagrack are themselves becoming outnumbers, marked, and fending off tackles! Isolation Kos Khouggael , leaving Sagrack exposed. Clampdown rushes in with a blitzer, is beaten off but on second attempt downs and stuns Sagrack! With Sagrack dazed and the ball loose, the Ravens could be in trouble!
They’re not done yet! Revealing and wielding the mighty Wand of Smashing, game blocker Kargrim counter blitzes and clamps down the Clampdown! The crowd roars! But no sooner has Kargrim brought down the Clamps, Everybody knows is hurling his huge mass at Kargrim! Kargrim is down, the ball is loose, and the Clampdown is already back on his feet. Rushing to grab the ball his burly teammates position themselves between their leader and the opposition.
Smelling blood, Life During Wartime is already sprinting back upfield. Running for his life, Clamps is able to finally let go, handing off the ball to Wartime. The offensive has switched, and RS are out of position! It looks like they’ve stopped bothering! Wartime rushes the ball into endzone as final whistle blows, and with a stunning 2 – 0 victory, Lockdown Songs advance to the Lockdown League final!
