“This was the first of an unexpected double header against the Groundhoppers. For this one we brought in a journeyman and a babe to ensure we wouldn't be outmanned.

After advancing the ball to half way our Blitzers used their power very well to get some KO's and a cas. But a Slaan wrestle Lino leapt at our thrower Gunther and superbly smacked him to the floor. A catcher leapt over too, and picked up but fumbled a tough pass chance. Gunther recovered the ball but then snaked a gfi! Duncan "The Boy" caught the scattered ball, before too being knocked down. Fortunately Loaz could make another catch for us, and with extra players on the field we were able to take it in for a TD. But we were nervous and didn't hold on for a stall.
The Groundhoppers then brilliantly saved their half after their KO'd players all returned. Their carrier was left exposed and was stunned by a charging Marius who had dodged through. But a pickup, pass and a handoff later they had equalized! Key for us in the moments left before half-time were a KO caused and then a reckless Slaan leap which led to a fall and a casualty.

The Slaan received but after some pressure Marius was able to blitz cas their catcher Und and then somehow benefit from another helpful scatter to take the ball. The Slaan still managed to get another take down and ball pickup but again the pass forward was too tough to pull off perfectly. We regained and Topis, with support, went on to score his first TD in 32 matches.

The Slaan made our offence always in doubt today, but with superior hitting the Plebeians got the job done with superior numbers. After the match we had money to get back to a full Blitzer count.
