The season opener for the Brutes was brutal to say the least. In all they finished the game with only 5 of their 11 remaining on the pitch. This included 2 badly injured blitzers and the death of Runner, Skizzik, and Lineman Nildud. Regardless, the Brutes played a staunch game in the first half managing to take advantage of a gap in the offense, turn the ball over and take it in for the score. In the second half, the Brutes fielding only 6 players, Lineman Marfu put up a tremendous effort to hold off the go-ahead score, rising from off his back, dodging away from Sun Devils, and tackling the ball carrier two separate times. The Brutes grinded out the number advantage of Devils in the final moments of the game for the draw. ”
At a press conference, the coach of the Arizona Sun Devils, walked up to the microphone, his hoofs allowing him to tower above all the reporters and the crowd. He cracks a wide smile.
"I am proud of the kids this game. They did wonderful, considering they are all new to the college. They still have their flaws, and I am a little upset that they couldn't seal the deal against the battered Orcs, but they didn't lose, I can't stand losers. I would be lying if I said I was feeling a little sad about the young lads that played their life out on the field today, but they did their job, they played the game and they entertained the masses, especially the one who ended up among them.
If there was a good part about this match, it might be how much BLOOD, sweat, and tears went out onto that pitch. I think that Borris Settison set a great example for any player out there. I am certain that any player would want to achieve what he did this match. That is all the time I have, thank you."
With those words, the head coach of Arizona State, leaves that podium.
Good Game CoachBuck. ”
