“Big finals game in GLT qualifier. In the first half, the pouring rain played a big factor when after busting my cage Malmir was unable to grab the ball and pull the defensive score. My ag5 players shined in that situation and I was able to score on turn 8. His attempt to one turn was thwarted by the difficulty on ball handling from the rain again.

In the second half, I used the wizard to bust up his cage, but my guys were a bit out of position and although I got the ball carrier down, I was unable to secure it. Meanwhile, my armors which had been solid in the first half started breaking left and right. Malmir took the conservative approach of holding on and dishing as much damage as he could before tying the game.

In OT, I was lucky to make enough KO rolls to put 8 players on the pitch and I got blitz on the kick-off. I was able to position my guy to catch it, but he was a bit of a sitting duck and the ball bounced Malmir's way after he wrestled him down.

Malmir was protecting the ball deep in his half, and then I somehow decided that putting 4 guys in a really precarious position to knock down a ST5 saurus made sense and after I failed the 1d block on the ball carrier, I got two guys pushed off the field and that was pretty much it. Huge brain fart there, but that's how you learn sometime.

First time playing against the illustrious Malmir and he was a class act as one would expect from a master of the game. Although lizards are stinky and poorly educated, they are tremendous opponents on the field.
