Today the Brutes hosted the Seraphins of Quebec! The home crowd was enthralled by the play of the Brutes on both sides of the ball. The Seraphins arranged in an unorthodox offensive formation to receive, and immediately set to marking Brute players as they began their march forward. The close quarters ended up playing in favor of the home team as the Brutes took advantage of the opportunity to bash a handful of Seraphins off the pitch, opening a gap that allowed standout Black Orc, Torgan, to get a hit on the ball carrier. Utah recovered the loose ball and worked the sideline to remove two additional Seraphins before running in for the score.
The second half was a difficult affair for Quebec as they struggled to stay on the pitch. Utah took a massive numbers advantage at one point beginning a drive 11 players to 4. This allowed the home team to score with relative ease, putting up 3 additional scores before the close of the match.
Coach Buck's comments on the match:
"I felt like we got a few of their players off the pitch early, that definitely started to swing things in our favor. By the 2nd half it had snowballed to a severe advantage. I commend Coach Barem for sticking it through. Lesser Coaches might not have come back out of the locker room after half-time. I'm proud of our crew. The Blitzers did a great job handling the ball, our crowd was behind us, and a heavy dose of Nuffle's luck didn't hurt either. Lookin' forward to the Bulldogs next week!"”
