“The Plebeians faced Necros here. They did a very short and high kick which blitzer Josef caught on the LOS. A gap was left so we soon burst through the middle of their lineup and Josef scored.
In response their Wolf picked up and went straight for a pass to a Ghoul. They just about managed it and the Ghoul moved into a cage on the LOS. We were having some success at halting their advance and put some pressure on the Ghoul ball carrier. He managed to Dodge away but our line held and we prevented a first half TD!
The sweltering heat kept out a Wolf, a Wight, and a blitzer. With 11 vs 9 players it was looking very good for our chance of a good defence. Ludehus even ko'd a zombie quickly. But a Flesh Golem, Johnny Cash then did a powerful hit to crack lino Ludehuz's skull. We tried to put pressure back on, but the same golem cas'd another player! The side switching continued. A lino then was ko'd on a dodge fail, so space was opened up and the Wight managed a handoff to a Ghoul to score!
We still had a little time to come back but with the pass play setup our Catcher tripped up before his blitz chance.
It felt like a winning chance was missed today, but Apollo and his Felice Lupin did a great recovery job in the 2nd half.
