The Part-timers had the perfect TV gap to induce a wizard to threaten Kaisuke as soon as he touched the ball. They chose to kick and the game was on!
A rock from the crowd put down Torii Yoshifusa, but too deep a kick allowed a touchback and the ball to be put in Akimoto Kiyonaga's hands to dampen the effect of the wizard. The Claws spread out as they waited for Yoshifusa to recover.
The Part-timers were aggressive and immediately ran their knights into the backfield to base the ball carrier and Kasiuke. The Claws advanced in a loose cage, but it wasn't too secure and some pushing allowed Sir Tristan in to pop the ball loose!
The Claws responded by inflicting two injuries and their Ninja running free with the ball, inviting the wizard to zap him, when all previous attempts had failed.
Success! Kaisuke was now a toad, and Sir Tristan scooped up the loose ball. Tristan advanced but was soon surrounded by Claws players, but they could not bring him down. To increase the pressure Hiryuu Odachi killed the niggled Sir Reynard.
The dice started to turn for the Part-timers, as they only pushed around a few Claws players and Sir Tristen knocked himself down trying to blitz his way free. The Claws failed to pickup the loose ball, and more foolishly left Kaisuke the toad in base contact, and Caiden Marten wasted no time in knocking him out of the game.
This time the Claws secured the ball, and Akimoto looked to be out of reach. The rookie knight Sir Oliver decided now was the time to show his valor, but was killed trying to squeeze past two Samurai! The Claws score to end the half.
Lining up for the second half the Part-timers were down to 6 players, but the two remaining knights scored a quick three turn TD to tie up the game, but lost another peasant to injury.
Now two players down the Part-timers needed to hold out for 6 turns vs the bloodthirsty Claws. A deep kick and an over aggressive Claws front line (injuring another peasant) allowed the two knights to pressure the backfield, and when Yoshifusa could only wrestle Sir Odo to the ground, suddenly the ball carrier was exposed to a 1d block, but only a shove was suffered.
Another Claws turn, and another peasant injured, the Part-timers were now down to 3 players. Sir Tristan never gives up and dodged his way to another 1d hit on the carrier, but Akimoto kept getting pushed. This time the Claws surrounded Tristan, and despite not being able to bring him down, prevented him from getting out, and Akimoto was able to walk in the winning score.

Many thanks to Morbo for an enjoyable game, he took the hefty injuries very well, and with a bit more luck on his block and armour dice could easily have got the draw he needed.”
