#8 Blake Usambara – Groin Strain (MNG)
NCBB- Season 35
Week 10

A cold, icy wind blew as the GFI's arrived in Miami, and snow was piled high on the off skirts of the pitch. Miami won the coin toss and elected to kick, setting up to prevent any breakaways. Um Go began laying some hits but could not collect the ball due the icy conditions. At this point it was revealed that Miami had snuck a spiked ball onto the pitch in place of the regulation ball. For the mainstay of the first half the GFI's formed and reformed cages as Miami repeatedly harassed the ball carrier. In the thrilling closing seconds of the half Um Go sent in their super star blitzer to recover the loose ball, under coverage, and dodge into the endzone for the score, but the cold hands of the blitzer let to him being stabbed, shattering their collar bone. The apoth was called and successfully rescued the blitzer, but the first half closed scoreless.

In a series of rapid fire blocks Miami evened out the teams at 9-a-piece, attempting to progress forward but meeting with stiff defense from Um Go. After having to break apart and regroup, Miami made to secure the ball, but the hand off was dropped, leaving the ball exposed. Um Go could not recover, but successfully marked the ball, forcing Miami to blitz the ball out from coverage, but they still failed the pick up. Um Go recovered the ball, only for Miami to again knock it loose, only for Um Go to again recover, this time sprinting forward towards the endzone. In what should have been the simplest play ever, Miami blitzed down the ball carrier, caging in the blitzer, and double marking the ball. To further cement the tie, Star Player Slibli threw a block on blitzer nearest the ball. It was at this time Slibli chose to block with their face, knocking themselves down in the process (2d block, double skulls, fails Loner roll), allowing for the targeted blitzer to remove one of Miami's players marking the ball. After that, it was a Dodge, Pick Up, Dodge, Hand off, and all Miami could do was watch as Um Go crossed the goal line as the whistle blew, signaling the end of the match. Um Go 1, Miami 0.

Good game.
