“A great season opener for the WIL Albany regional. Chainsaws, some money being slipped into the referees pocket, and that sweet familiar noise of the chainsaw, head coach Bakadon (league coaching debut) sporting a headband (not sure what thats about). Then a look across at the other side is athleticism, agility, ball catching, and hot looking eleven cheerleaders, on no thats the team warming up..... but hey thats even before the fireworks and kick off whistle.

Ok enough chatter lets get this season under way, Rangers v Ravagers....

Strange the Orcs have won the toss and decided to Kick, what do they have up there sleeves (oh no the coach thought he was typing a message but actually just activated the button on the pop up dialog box selecting to kick doh!)A slow start to the game, the blocks went in and not many people fell. A little sloppy by the elves downing 2 of there own causing turnovers but ball safely in their soft hands. Rangers trying to go down the flank but nicely covered by the Ravagers with Urgoth(chainsaw) prowling behind the line waiting to cut down the tree or mangle any Elf that dares to touch the floor. I imagine a big target was painted on Wardancer Tivandi as the game changer, but either dancer will do I imagine.

The elves are clear through by the middle of the half. The Orcs cant really catch them to stop the TD but can they hit any stragglers. Oh oh Tivandis been blitzed down alone with 3 Orcs round him, this could be the game changer. Urgoth came marching across ready to surely maim the Star stranded from assistance. I can see coach Guerto closing his eyes. But oh no the loner has tripped and fallen stunning himself. Wow that was a let off for Tivandi. And from that he leaps and does a reverse block on teh 4 orcs taking one down and dancing off into the distance.... supporting the Elves creep the clock down with space to use. But the Orcs are charging back at them. Could this be a dangerous case of stalling = cas. Oh a blitzed wood elf lino badly hurt and oh the lesser dancer Mathua is down now in the straggling Elven defence and again hes isolated this time with 4 Orcs around him. Then rookie lino Gharol comes charging in for the foul, this is how you do it Urgoth you loner! Bah only a KO, both wardancers have had a lucky escape. Is the the price of trying to see the half out. And in goes Giv(ca) for 1-0 to the Rangers. The orcs receive and get a quick show of a screwed up pass but luckily caught the scatter earning the teams first pass completion. And the big Tree was caught batting 2 ORc linos around for most of that half without casulty :)

Oh and whats this Bakadon has made a rookie mistake.. He brought his chainsaw guy back on teh field for 1 turn after that TD, using the bribe up on Urgoths first drive of stunning himself when he was so close to the taste of a dancers blood! So no Urgoth the second half much to the happiness of Rangers coach Guerto

1-0 WElves with the Ravagers receiving in this second half. And they are off.....

Well what a way to start the 2nd half with the crowd getting thoroughly involved causing a riot and leaving 2 elves and 3 orcs stunned...

So after that the ORcs pick hte ball up and gete some defenders round the ball before the treeman occupies a couple of Borcs on teh scrimmage, thats right the tree moved! oh turn 2 hes rooted :/ and with the Orcs setting up a nice cage setup, it was time for Tivandi (WD) to leap into the fray and smash teh poor orc thrower down, BAM. Lucky for the Orcs Giv(Cat) couldnt make the pick up and teh ball bounced nicely between 2 BOrcs. But then a ruck insued and Tivandi was floored. The str4 dancer on the ground with orcs all around him, wahat a brave soul. Yam then went in for the foul with 4 assists and only stunned him getting sent off in teh process, another lucky escape for these dancers. Could hve proved costly as Mathua took offence to his fellow dancer being fouled and subsequently smashed the ball carrier with a fellow linemen in to pick the ball up and pass safely to Giv 3 yards from the score zone with 2 defenders protecting him BUTTT WAIT WHATS THIS..............

GURAK INTERCEPTS, have you ever seen anything like it.. And then then oh ho whats this Gurak seems to be wearing that headband we saw teh coach in before the game. What a combo, the big Black Orc now has pass and accurate, and with the elves all dancing around the scoring zone theres a , BAM hes passed it as well, and the Orcs are running back down the other end much to their disbelief. But with the elves dancing past the slow moving defenders Gharol had to run the TD in in turn 6 for 1-1. So close to 2-0 probably and what a turn around. Does anyone have the ability to win this match in teh last 2 turns.

A poor defensive setup let teh elves storm forward leaving lots of options open for the score. Amandala picks the ball up and goes to launch it to the handful himself Tivandi. And oh my hes fumbled it.... The Orcs press forward marking all ATtacking Elves. 1 turn left, what play can Guerto command. Amandala collects the fumbled ball, and heads straight for Giv handing off this time. Giv brushes aside the 1TZ to receive the ball 3+ and 2 2+dodges :o hes failed one of those with a 1 but passes the skill reroll and skips in for his second of the match and wins the game at the death.

Great game and great opening match for the Albany division.
