TCU won the toss, electing to receive with 2 bribes on board. Hawaii had a chance at the ball early, with Mekel Ealy getting his hands on it, but strangely electing to throw it to Marquise "Mr Butterfingers" Stovall, who was just below him on the play.
The Rats came around and injured Stovall (BH), managed to recover through some sticky situations (a sideline POW on a Gutter with a Strip Ball). Hawaii felt that putting up screens in front of the ball would serve better than trying to pick it up (they had used a team RR already that turn), but the Rats made their way through and sure enough, 1-0 TCU.
Hawaii streaks up the far sideline, and in two quick turns, it's all tied on turn 6.
The two squads hit back and forth, but at the end, the ball was in the hands of a Gutter Runner on t8 (despite Hawaii's defense, the GR was able to be pushed to where he needed to go, thanks to a Quick Snap), but the GR failed the first of the two GFI's. TCU had already used a RR that turn to get the Rat Ogre to come up to the push he needed for the chain (originally rolled a straight up POW and a skull, so he absolutely had to rr it).
Hawaii begins Season 36 1-0, and reclaims possession of the Golden Fleece.
Zach Daniels continues to add to his NCBB-all-time totals, putting up another 24 yards in this match. It's possible we could see not only the NCBB's first 600 and 700 point Thrower, but we COULD see the first 800-yard Thrower in history.
Remaining in the OoC pod for Hawaii: Duke (Lizardman) and Berea (Amazon).
