#5 Minotaur – Broken Ribs (MNG)
Yet another fun and not too serious match - as all games with this team seem to be - in which the elves barely broke a sweat until the second half and the orcs played their first drive like a pack of clowns.

On the opening drive (my offence) I wasn't able to clear enough of a gap in the elven line to get a goblin through safely, so I tried throwing one for a change. This was, I think, the only successful thing the troll did all game, but even here he messed up by maybe throwing the little fella a bit too hard and managing to throw him all the way to the injured box. And what remained of the drive came crashing down around me when one of the two remaining goblins dropped the following beautifully thrown long pass and basically handed the thing over to the opposition.

As previously stated, Pultsarit then cruised out the rest of a comfortable drive as if the orcs weren't even there, knocking over anyone they wanted and only stopping to laugh at the unbelievable antics of the really, REALLY, stupid troll.

With two turns of offence left in the half, and with the really, REALLY, stupid troll not looking like he was up to throwing anything except the game itself, I settled for a conciliatory long bomb and a 0-1 deficit going into the second half.

The second half was much better for the orcs - but not thanks to anything they were doing so much as because the easy elven score was scuppered by Vompo failing two out of three gfi rolls and falling over in the endzone. After a bit of a scrabble, and a good bit of luck with the scattered ball, I managed to get my thrower to the ball and lobbed a neat little pass over the head of an elven catcher (who I was convinced was going to intercept despite my safe mittens) and got the ball all the way to the halfway line.

And that's where it stayed for the rest of the game, surrounded by most of the players who were still on their feet. A careful blitz from Vompo on his final turn pushed my only potential scorer out of range, so with nothing better to do I went through a whole series of careful and pointless moves so that my thrower could get in one final long bomb - if not for the score, then at least for bragging rights. Sadly, after everything worked perfectly all turn, the thrower then fumbled the pass. Twice.

Still, that's what it's like with orcs pretending to be elves. Vompo played well in only his 15th game on the site, and deserved the win. In fact, he deserved more of a win than he got, seeing as how the troll was clearly playing for the elves, but I'm sure he's happy enough to come away with the right result and no injuries.

As for me, I'm trying to stick to an 11-man squad (or maybe 12, seeing as how at least one of the goblins seems to be missing every game) and not buying any more players was clearly a very costly mistake (160K costly!) Ah well.
