As is a time-honored tradition, the Annual War of the Golden Fleece took place in the NCBB. TCU took it to Hawaii early, but Hawaii fought back for a hard-earned score at the end of the 1st half to bring it to the break for tea at 1.
The second half saw just a plethora of Elves checking out for the KO and BH boxes. The end of the match saw just 5 Elves on the pitch. This game could have had a shot at being 2-2 mid-way through the 2nd, but a Dump-Off Catcher rolled a 1 for a pass, and the following turn, the AG5 Wrestle Lineman rolled snake eyes to dodge on his Blitz of a Gutter Runner. From there, it was all over but for the elaborate presentation and ceremony of the Golden Fleece, as it returns to TCU for Season 37 (Hawaii had won it in Season 35, and a tie in Season 36 kept it in the hands of the Warrielves).
Chevan Cordeiro only put up 5 yards before being fouled close to the end of the 1st. He'll miss the next match against perennial powerhouse Ottawa.
Hawaii DID have a chance late in the 2nd to tie this game at 2, but needed a bomb from Eliki Tanuvasa, a rookie Lineman to sail over the head of the bane of Hawaii's existence, TreVontae Hights, the pass block GR (we play by Hawaii rules rememeber). The pass never got there, as he rolled double 3's, fumbling the ball to the waiting hands of a rookie GR to make it 3-1.”
