We start the first quarter to an excellent day for Blood Bowl between two fan favorites in the tournament. The fantastic display of offensive coaching on the part of the Averlorn positioning gives them a strong response to the Praag lineup, off the line of danger and ready to move in to where they need to be. An unfortunate kick on the part of Pavel Pavelov sends the ball arcing right into Lyeth's hands, and we see an immediate aggressive set of Elven maneuvers for a south side rush while still keeping the ball carrier safe in the backline. The Pillagers move in defensively to form a stone wall against what seemed to be the High Elf push, but made a critical error in not covering the downed Jade and over committing themselves to the south side of the field. Lyeth spots the opening and demonstrates some beautiful bloodbowl with a clean pass to the midfield, Jade is now in a prime position to make a runaway with the ball, but the risk wasn't in catching, it was in making her way through the Kislevite mid fielders looking to smash a lone ball carrier into the dirt. The tackle didn't quite come through and we find ourselves with a quick and perfectly done practically uncontested touch down on the part of the Thorny Sisters.

The second quarter finds us some angry snarling Kislevites ready to show the Elves that they too can put on an impressive offense. Pavel struggles at first to pick up the ball from the opening kick but makes up for it with a well done pass to Gurelkin who proceeds to hand the ball over to Trollsky, and we find ourselves with a powerplay push by Praag through the north side of the field, the Thorny Sisters though with plenty of quick footed players to rush north in response. Trollsky smashes forwards, pummeling an Averlorn player while carrying the ball forwards, but is promptly tackled himself and the ball is left to scatter and be lost in the midst of one of the most impressive scrums we have seen yet in recent Blood Bowl history. Nearly every player on both teams committed to a struggle for the ball on the LOS north field. The ball eventually finds it's way free and in Pavelov's hands, Tulpirov diligently waiting in the south field as one of the few players not involved in the scrum. Unfortunately Pavelov suffers an incompletion and the half ends in a messy scramble with no more ball movement.

Third quarter and the Pillagers are ready for their second attempt at bringing the ball home. Clean catch on the kick from Gurelkin and an attempt seems to be made once again for the same strategy. However this time the ball is solidly behind a wall of tough Kislevite muscle, unmoving and unwavering in it's protection of their ball carrier. The efforts of the Thorny Sisters to get through are frustrated, and Praag is able to form a practically impenetrable cage. With the momentum and force of a wrecking ball, Praag scores an easy quick touchdown in the second half.

The fourth quarter proves a little mucky with an unfortunate onset of rain and an Averlorn team left scrambling for the ball in the mud. Down on manpower from a player thrown off the field attempting to stop the earlier cage, and Ivis down from a bad tumble with Manlenkyagora, the elves attempt a strategy of non confrontation, sending wings of players down into the Kislevite side of the field both north and south side, the potential split threat for Praag to deal with could spell their doom in a currently tied 1-1 match. The follow up comes with the los manning elves fleeing their position and heading north, though one finds their hair caught on a bears paws and takes a bad slam to the ground. Tulpirov breaks away into a sprint down field to tag the elven ball carrier, but unfortunately doesn't have quite enough gas in the tank to perform a sack. With a quick dodge Ami gets around Tulpirov and makes her way to mid field with the protection of multiple Elven players pulling back for a makeshift cage, surprisingly to the analyst, no pass play attempt. Praag with its players scattered needs to manage a coordinated attempt to stonewall this push, and we see that attempt made with what would appear to be expected brutal effectiveness, multiple Praag players make their way to swarm Ami, and Tulpirov comes in hot despite his previous sprint to prove that he is a well oiled machine of a man, unfortunately, despite the group effort, we find the second crucial flounder in the Kislev defensive tackle and Ami pops free, unable to be matched again by the slower human defenders. Feet racing through the mud for the second touch down to decide the game.

With some time left on the clock the Pillagers attempt to make a south side mad dash, but with time on the clock ailing the window is incredibly small. While the chances of a Pillagers touch down to even the game was ranked slim to none, we here at Cabalvision have some stern criticisms to give the Pillagers coach or Pavelov for a possible miscommunication for the call to hand the ball over to Gurelkin and not Trollsky who was free to attempt a simple unsupported sprint for the end zone. With the wrong call, the Pillagers are left dispirited and blood thirsty, but no late bashing produced results, a nasty foul attempt by Gurelkin included, caught live on Cabalvision tv, and bringing the star player of the Pillagers lineup plenty of hate from our High Elf audience.
