“It started with an SI from a thrown rock. Shocking bad play by me and good play by Fanatic led to the first drive being a turnover td for him, the only highlight being my Mino 'Blame the Parents' getting a casualty which luckily was one of his bulls.. Sportingly he didn't stall, which he easily could have for a turn or two at least, and that left time for me to run in an equaliser.
In the second half we played a game called 'who can roll the worst dice' with the winner being too close to call. 'Blame the Parents' spent most of the time roaring, probably with laughter, and we headed for extra time sans rerolls and shorthanded.
OT saw a quick snap kick off which Dasiy Killhoof managed to catch and run in. unsportingly I did stall for a turn, but could risk no more as his bull bore down with hobgob and dwarf backup. the return drive was a nervous affair as his bull made a beeline down the edge, a failed GFI on a hobgob left me free to get an assisted block in with one of my bulls on the third sprinted GFI and pushed the ball carrier onto the sideline. next turn he visited his fans in the crowd. the ball scattered into the midfield and luckily there were no hobgobs near to pick it up. In a desperate last throw of the die, on his turn 24 , a brave little hobgob darted through the crowds and retrieved the ball only for it to be intercepted as it was thrown to the well covered hob in scoring position. In the same turn i lost a Dwarf to a niggle SI so face the next round with little hope, but a huge grin.
A fun game that deserved better dice.”
