Billed as the match of the round, this was truly a top match as the Wonders went down 0-2, pulled one back and then had their fans invade the pitch to wipe out the Dragons offence... including killing both founding blitzers Vladim Oslobahn and Heinrick Stormblade.
The apoth saved Vladim, but the drive stalled.
It then turned into a midfield slug fest as the rerolls burned and the teams desperate.
The Dragons Ogre, "The Big Blue" got the ball with three turns to go via a richochet and gamely held on until with moments to spare, he was felled.
The Wonders though with a single receiver downfield awaiting to score and force OT, squandered their opportunity with a failed dodge.
The game was won, but at a cost as star catcher Lapi Stoneman is also missing for the Round 2 clash with the Fyord Frollikars.

Bad luck SoS, it was perhaps one of the most nailbiting matches in my fumbbl career - rarely do I cheer at my PC, but I did tonight. I had the rub of the green in the first half, but the second was yours... a great match.
Good luck in the SWL Conference League! I wouldnt be surprised to see a promotion to Premier soon enough...
