Dwarves. Lump an' da Snots hadn't met any real dwarves yet. Their reputation for hard drinking sounded like the perfect way to close out Year 9 with style. It was only when they arrived that it became clear that these Dwarves were Engineers......but surely Engineers know how to party, right?

Kick Off
L.A.D.S. 22-12 Mugrec's Mechanical Madmen
Sadly for L.A.D.S. the prospect of partying with a bunch of Engineers was just as exciting as it sounded. Within the first quarter of the game 8 of the 12 Snotlings to start the game had snuck off the field unable to tolerate any more wacky 'banter' about computational fluid dynamics. Lump was the only L.A.D. to see out the whole first half, and that was purely because the conversation went way over his head and he was content humming to himself.

Half Time
L.A.D.S. 23 - 14 Mugrec's Mechanical Madmen
Starting the second half it seems the L.A.D.S. had a hard time getting up from the KO box. Just 2 of 12 attempts were successful. A more cynical author might suggest there was some underhanded tactics at play as players tried to avoid having to listen to more 'fascinating' stories about the properties of ductile iron.
Either way L.A.D.S. got going for the second half. The 23-14 lead was rapidly narrowing but up stepped the Masked Flinga. They had already got on the scoresheet in the first half but shortly after the break had notched up 3 more. L.A.D.S. now sat at a more comfortable looking
26-14 and the job was nearly done. Securing the L.A.D.S. first ever fivefer, the Masked Flinga finished the half with a stomp casualty.
All in all a big win for Lump an' da Snots, but very much due to that mysterious bomber, maybe we'll see them again! Meanwhile they also learned a good lesson, and sadly not about the Coefficient of Thermal Expansion. That lesson was Dwarves really aren't cool.
