“The open of a new season turned out to be a glorious day for the Legion.
A commentator after the game looked at the box score and saw no serious injuries and no fatalities. Mistakenly he summed the match up was boring.
He could not have been more wrong.
The first half saw Legion take the ball and methodically work it down the field. The Foxes played a stellar defense and forced a score much earlier than Legion preferred.
But the story of the entire match was the soft damage done by the Legion. One Fox after another limped to the sideline. Badly hurt or simply knocked out. On the other side, comparatively little was done to even the numbers game.
The MVP of the match was tough to call as Seamus showed why he was on the all star team last season by notching a pair of casualties. Bloody Knuckles Jones also did his part with 6 unspotted fouls before the ref caught the 7th and kicked him out of the game.
Still it came down to the last play of the match. Poor coaching put the Legion in a bad position to get a go ahead score. Still, some dodging, extra effort, and a short pass reached Ricochet Ramon for the go ahead score and the first touchdown of his career.
It is a good start for the Legion. Now they can game plan for the Sharks who will come to town next week.”
