“What an absolute barnstormer of a game.

I've never been able to understand how to play against Necro (one of those blindspots I have, a bit like being incapable of playing against Ogres) and I was looking with some trepdiation at how my rookie Wood Elves would get on. With a Blitz! on the first kick off, and a touchback on the kick after my T5 score, I really wasn't feeling like Nuffle was smiling on me. Solid play from the Necro meant the first few turns were like being slowly choked out, the little green guys trying not to give into the panic. But a combination of trying to be super careful, and then occasionally taking stupid chances (including badly hurting Robert Allart on a 6+ leap to surf the ball carrier) made it a good way to spend 75 minutes, rather than watching pointy eared fops getting crushed into the dirt. Oh, and a werewolf double-1ing the GFI was what saved me from not scoring in the first half, can't forget that gift.

Not quite sure what I should learn from this. Need to spend a bit more time ruminating on How You Play Wood Elves so I don't get mangled by every team that comes up against me.”
