“I wrote an extensive description for this match but my DSL connection suddenly failed and now it's gone into the ether :-(
Suffice it to say that this was the 75 game anniversary for Axiomatic and the first game in 15 or more games where we actually fielded 11 players. We were proud to mark this anniversary by playing the mighty Trad, whose storied career dwarfs our own minor accomplishments.
This game was a true nail-biter with with each team having legitimate chances to take the lead in the final seconds. Luck rolled both ways in this one and seemed a bit extreme on both sides....Axiomatic began their game with quadruple skulls (on their second block) and Trad ended the game with double skulls (no re-rolls left).
In between was a pretty good ball scatter for Axiomatic at the end of the first half and some lucky armor breaks and a failed Trad apoth during the second half. On the other hand, Trad's lineman Enbuske twice dodged into and out of our diving tackle zones like they didn't even exist, and the kick-offs featured 2 thrown rocks and a couple quick snaps to Trad's advantage.
roos is a very clever coach and never let up the pressure, but the Dark Elves had the final word in this one :-) As he pointed out, the fact that all 4 of my niggle rolls were successful meant that I had the advantage in team strength by a fair margin.
Thank you for an excellent and memorable game roos!”
