“Here, the Akro-Bats were tested in what proved to be a violent first game, though luckily without any lasting damage. Early on, Maruvon Poscidion pushed an amazonian into the surprisingly gentle crowd. The zons (sensibly) decided to switch sides, sprinting hell-for leather around the imposing form of Whipthorn. Eldri and Maruvi, the tag team pros, chased them down but an unfortunate stumble from Maruvi secured the Zons' offensive drive- the only other moment of note was when Fricka, the beefy jaguar blocker, hurt Imriwi Ede pretty badly.
Starting the second half three players down was demoralising, but not the end of the world- despite an overwhelming amount of pressure from the sure-footed Amazons, Eldri buffed up out her sneakily hidden knuckledusters and KILLED a Piranha Blitzer outright. The zons crowded the elves with superior numbers, but a few lucky dodges and a mighty double-POW from Agretho Rutabega (breaking the neck of an unlucky Amazon) allowed the Akro-Bats to break for cover the other side of Whipthorn. Eldri also niggled ANOTHER amazon, equalising the numbers and striking some serious caution into the Power Ladies' hearts. Whipthorn was left in the dust as they took root, but a few elves managed to sprint down the pitch and reach the endzone, scoring for a 1-1 draw: not bad!”
