“Memo to self: Don't play Skaven when you are down players. The Cthonionians started with 11, but then Nyarlathotep niggled out (I have two niggles, and one pretty much always misses the game), and Yog Sothoth was BH very early on, leaving me with 9. Then the standard lazing around in the KO box began, so I was down to 7 for the majority of the game. This is too few troops when the opponent is so fast, and has two pesky Shadowing Gutter Runners...
Actually all things considered, I thought I did pretty well this game, considering the TS differences. I managed to at least make him work for some of his TDs, and I don't think I was completely boring to play against. Good luck helped, but I am starting to think that maybe I am not the worst coach on Fumbbl...
I have a problem, though. My TR is too high, and is severely limiting my income. I need to either drop some players (that I don't really have) or resign myself to hoping for no injuries and it taking forever to get that dang Witch Elf.
Either way, the next few games should be interesting. Again, I apparantly need to come up with a new direction in Merchandising for the team.
MVP was officially Shantak, who made the stupidest play of the game by choosing Skull/Pow over Push on the first block of the first turn of a drive. He doesn't have Block, so it pretty much handed the Cheesers a Blitz. He claims it's bad coaching, but we all know that Great Cthulhu does not mess up. He may have a date with a Hound of Tindalos if he doesn't smarten up... My vote for MVP goes to Elder Thing II, who did some nice dodging to get the ball and throw the pass that led to my turn 16 TD. Honourable mention to the Apothocary, who saved He who should not be Named from certain discorporation on the last turn of the game.
Muttesmutte was a fun opponent who really knows how to drive those Skaven. If you want to see a good Skaven side, try him out for a game. He was also courteous, and fairly funny.
